Ivy Apea Owusu is the CEO of Cirrus Energy, one of Ghana’s leading Oil and Gas companies with an annual turnover in excess of US$ 700 Million. Ivy is also on the Board of Woodfields Energy an affiliate company of Cirrus. Ivy is a graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon (BA Admin) as well as Vanderbilt University in TN, USA (MBA).
She has been engaged in the Energy Financing Sector since 2002 working with GE Capital in the USA from the year 2002 through to mid-2007, and in the UK from mid-2007 to mid-August 2009. Prior to that, she was with the Consumer Banking Department at Ecobank Ghana.
Ivy Owusu began her energy career as an associate with GE Structured Finance Group and GE Energy Financial Services (GE EFS) focusing on reserve based acquisitions and monetization, and quickly rose through the ranks to the position of Director before joining Cirrus Oil. During the period, she garnered experience in both Debt and Equity financing in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Renewable and Ancillary Energy Services Sectors. She was also involved in portfolio management, underwriting, and loan syndication.
In the year 2007, Ivy was appointed Risk Director with the responsibility of setting up and heading the European Structured Finance desk for GE’s French Bank (GECFB) in the UK. She has worked on over $1 billion transactions covering Leverage Buyouts, Project Finance and Acquisition Finance.
